Your role

As a member of the Management Committee reporting to the Executive Director, you actively contribute to the quality, consistency and evolution of services delivered to partners through both strategic and relationship-oriented leadership.

In this role, you lead a team of engagement experts while also leading targeted dialogues with companies. At the same time, you develop and maintain strong relationships with institutional investors, clients, partners and other market participants. You also contribute to Æquo’s visibility and profile.

Key responsibilities

Leadership

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of experts by establishing clear priorities, effective practices and a culture of collaboration, excellence and innovation.
  • Ensure team performance and the quality of deliverables while actively contributing to strategic direction and leadership team initiatives.
  • Ensure the consistency of engagement activities and the continuous evolution of engagement services, in collaboration with other team members.

Partner relations

  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with institutional investors and strategic partners to support long-term collaboration.
  • Represent engagement activities with clients and actively contribute to the evolution of strategy based on market expectations.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by strengthening existing partnerships and supporting the acquisition of new mandates.

Engagement and visibility

  • Lead strategic dialogues with companies and represent the organization at key forums, including annual shareholder meetings, collaborative initiatives and investor forums.
  • Oversee content development and actively contribute to Æquo’s positioning and visibility through speaking engagements and participation in public forums.

Candidate profile

Education, skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or another relevant field;
  • Ten (10) years of experience in similar roles (equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered);
  • Extensive experience in shareholder engagement, responsible investment or sustainable finance;
  • Strong understanding of financial markets as well as the context, priorities and expectations of institutional investors;
  • Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills;
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English;
  • Ability to translate technical expertise into clear value propositions;
  • Strategic vision, strong prioritization skills and a nuanced understanding of sustainability and financial issues;
  • Leadership, a collaborative mindset and the ability to build consensus.
