April 5, 2019 [Montréal] – We are pleased to announce the appointment of Josée Cavalancia as the new Chairwoman of Æquo’s Board of Directors. Josée has served as a director since 2017, bringing her extensive background in entrepreneurship, dispute resolution and business management to the team. She is replacing Hélène Jacques, who has served on Æquo’s board since 2017 and will be stepping down later this year to serve new mandates.
“We want to thank Hélène for her exceptional leadership these past two years and are now thrilled to have Josée lead our board in an exciting period of growth and maturation,” says Jean-Philippe Renaut, CEO. “As an independent board member, Josée’s unique perspective, personality and skill set make her a fundamental asset to Æquo’s governance.”
As Chairwoman, her mandate includes managing the Board of Directors, leading Æquo’s strategic development, and overseeing its governance mechanisms.
“It’s been a pleasure to support Æquo’s vision and work in shareholder engagement as a board member – I am even more motivated to advance the company’s progress as well as that of its clients as Chairwoman,” says Josée. “There remains a largely unmet need to increase the impact and engagement capacity of responsible investors across North America.”
